Formed in late 2023 just outside Lexington, Kentucky, Small Steps began when Jeremiah (vocals/guitar) & Coty (drums) started writing songs in a cramped office with one goal in mind: bring a fresh spark of punk energy to their scene. The chemistry was instant, & the songs came fast.
Guitarist Jon joined soon after, locking in perfectly with Jeremiah’s melodic yet driving style. Before even finding a bassist, the trio recorded a self-released 4-song EP that set the tone for what Small Steps would become: urgent, heartfelt punk rooted in melody & grit. Jonathan came aboard on bass soon after, completing the lineup & fueling a breakout year that included non-stop shows, small tours, & a full-length vinyl album on Blind Rage Records.
In 2024, Justin took over on bass as the band tracked their newest release. A 5-song 7” recorded at Gravity Studios (Fall Out Boy, Rise Against) in Chicago & released through Transcendental Revolution. With new material in hand & plans to take their sound further across the Midwest & beyond, Small Steps continue to build momentum as one of Kentucky’s most exciting punk bands.
They've appeared at Blind Rage Weekend, It's Not A Phase Fest, Midwest Friends Fest, & 859 Fest.
They’ve shared the stage with Harley Poe, Negative Approach, Zero Boys, The Homeless Gospel Choir, The Crosses, Goalkeeper, Squint, Last Gasp, The Raging Nathans, Wilmette, & more.
